After the wonderful hospital birth of our first child, I realized there were some things missing from the childbirth classes that we attended during my pregnancy. Before we became pregnant again, I dove into research and, in doing so, awoke a passion for maternal care and childbirth that has only deepened over the years, leading us to have our second and third babies at home with a remarkable midwife.
My husband is the one who nudged me towards birth work, declaring that I really needed to "do something about this love of watching birth videos." He said I needed to be a doula and he was right! I knew I wanted to bring modern, applicable childbirth education to other families, and Birth Boot Camp's evidence-based curriculum appealed to me with their "tool box" of information, which allows parents to make the best decisions for their prenatal support, labor preferences, and newborn care.
